I Played, because i care

Ever since the glorious moment back in 2011, i have decided to quit futsal, literally.

Well, not to say i am quitting it altogether. I just wanted to focus more on the games of 11 a-side this year. Plus most of my futsal "kaki" has either retired or discarded their futsal shoe for good.

For those of you who can't distinguish the difference between futsal and football like one of my lady friend:

1. Futsal balls is a size smaller compared to the normal football.

2. Futsal court, well, is much smaller compared to a football field, eherm*

3. Futsal shoe is more like a jogging shoe, while football boots comes with studs.

4. Futsal required a much quicker passing and skillfull player, compared to football.

One day my friend just happened to call me and ask me to join a competition. It will be held early on a Sunday morning. You know i hate the idea of getting up early during weekend, and my immediate reaction was "Let me think about it first".

His reply was "Okay bro, just in case you changed your mind, this is a futsal competition for charity purposes. Really hope you could join us."

Futsal and charity? That sounds OK to me.

In my whole life i can hardly recall if i have done any charity to anyone, apart from picking up stray dogs from roadside and donating my money to the 4D organizations.

After a while, i decided to give it a shot.

The team was set up two days beforehand. And to me, some of the faces are really new to me.
That also means one thing. We have to "get to know" each other fast. Very fast. My philosophy is simple, if you want to join a competition, you better have the desire to win it.

But i guess my team mate has a different philosophy. They named the team, out of all names, the "Da-pao" FC. In Malay, means bungkus and go home.

It is quite funny though. But i guess the name did managed to gain some sort of popularity there, as we heard some of the spectators there giggling whenever our team name was announced.

End result? A couple of wins and losses, we are officially elmiminated from the group stage, despite having some impressive runs of results and come backs.

Well, what can i say? After so long out from the game, i struggled with the game! At a certain stage, i started wondering, if the way i am playing looked like a chicken learning to play football. It is really out of my expectation as i used to be good, real good in futsal before. But not on that day. I guess time has come to call for retirement.

Anyway, it is not important. We have had a wondeful day, having fun playing, knowing new friends and help some kids in the shelter home.

What more can i asked for? :)

Maxis CNY Gift Pack

What a surprise.

On the eve of CNY, i received this parcel from Maxis.

On the back of my mind;

Isit a bomb?

Or maybe it is anthrax??

Or maybe they are just trying to scare me by putting some kind of dead lizard in the parcel, since i have been insulting their broadband services endlessly for the past two years.

It couldn't be that bad right?

My jaw almost dropped to the floor when i realized it was nothing more than a CNY wishes from Maxis. I felt so embarassed that i almost put my foot into my own mouth.

Anyway, if any of you knew anyone who called Danny Tang from Maxis head of loyalty programme, please help me say hi to him.

Suddenly, out of the blue, i realized that it is not only cards that is contained in the parcel.

How come got ang pao der?

Summore it is not one or two. But PLENTY of them!

And summore, got money in it!!!

WTF? Is Maxis trying to bribe me, so that i could say something good about their broadband services in my blog?

(I don't wanna be the next one thrown out from the Plaza Massalam ok?)

Ok, so what should i do now?

Return it to Maxis? Or call Maxis Center and find that guy who called Danny and tell him that this offer wouldn't work??

OKOK, i made this up.

It is empty anyway.

Well, next time don't la give people false hope.

Can you imagine giving away empty "ang pao" to people during CNY?

Next time, remember to put some $$ in it, ok?

Maybe i would consider to throw away my unifi and reinstate your broadband services lei....

How Malaysian are you?

I am proud to be a Malaysian.

Without a doubt.

Many of us have the word "Malaysian" printed on our passports and mykad. But in reality, just how "Malaysian" are we?

I have dreamt of putting the Malaysian flags on the moon.

Have you?

Ok. Hereby let me list out some guides to show you the real face and attributes of a Malaysian:

1. When politicians say something wrong during their speech, we shout. When they keep quiet, we still shout. But when we talk about BN and PKR, we asked "Which basketball team is that?"

2. You scored straight As' in PMR, all you got is a handshake. (Did i mentioned it is if you are a chinese?)

3. You scored straight As' in SPM, all you get is offer to study fishery (Ijazah Perikanan) from local uni. (Did i mentioned it is if you are a chinese, again?)

4. You F*** UMNO, you belittled BN, and threatened to bomb the prime minister. But ask you yo join "Bersih", you say no time. Scared kena tangkap ISA.

5. During the price hike of goods, you blame the chinese. When government service too slow, you blame the malays. Got fight, you blame on drunken indian.

6. When the case of Saiful and Anwar surfaced, your mind goes : "Not another BN-directebox office films again...Boring la..."

7. Whenever there is a submarine deal, you know there will be someone who's gonna get "blown" into pieces.

8. Whenever there is a National Feedlot Center project, immediately you think about a cow staying in luxury condominiums.

9. You kena caught on traffic offense, your first sentence gonna be "Bang, boleh tolong ka?"

10. You are a loyal reader of hungyew09.blogspot.com. (Eherm).

Did you have at least 6 of the above attributes? Then yes, you are a true Malaysian.

So, just how "Malaysian" are you now?

The Dragon Year

I know, i know...You guys missed me. (Perasan).

You know la, as the main host for the CNY, i have to rush for lots of things ma. Sorry lo!

Our family used to be travelling during CNY for some reason. Honestly speaking, the opinion of the venue for the new year celebration will always be a hot debate among family members. Every Single year.

Oversea? (Last year baru go...)

Local? (Sien liao)

Genting? (Jam wey..)

However, this time the decision is pretty much straightforward and simpler.

It is because we have never celebrate it in my new apartment in KL ever since i bought it back in 2009.

Why can't we all just do something like the champions league draw to decide?

"This year, the host.....goes to PUCHONG!!!!!"

Well, i guess new posts to follow soon after CNY, in the mean time, the Wong Family would like to wish all of you;

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! May the year of the Dragon brings lots and lots of luck especially to the readers!

Ci Vediamo!

See? You are laughing your ars* off!

Racist!

Another Injury...

It has been two months since i start engaging with guitar class.
But until today, friends still give me a shock reaction whenever i told them about it.

Why is it so funny?

It is as if a 30 yr old are not supposed to engage in a new hobby. Well i am talking about guitar,
not Angry Bird, ok?!

But i was quite surprise with myself as i am normally known as the "Three minutes man". (Not THAT THREE MINUTES). In chinese proverbs, also means a person who doesn't last long in a certain hobby, certain interest.

But this time, i will go ballistic when i can't play the chords right, or i think the teacher is going too fast, something like that. Friends told me i am impatient. But i guess, thats my second nature. I have always wanted to learn something fast.

So fast that i have injured myself. (In fact, it bleeded).

But i guess it is part and parcel of the learning process.

Anyone can tell me if i am entitled for socso claim for this injury?
