Just to share my thought

I was having a dinner with a close buddy of mine yesterday.

Our topic is revolving around those super-rich people that live around us everyday. Which bungalow they are staying, what car they are driving, who are they dating etc etc etc.

The question is, why not us?

Well, to be honest, at this stage of our career, we don't really have much financial worry to be afraid of. Yeah we have mortgage loan, car loans, to be paid everymonth, but at least we knew we cope with it well enough without having the car been towed or the house we live in to be taken over by financial institution.

But to be total "debt free", and doing what we love to do, staying in a big house and driving a luxury car, how? How to change from a life where you need to plan your budget for holiday to a person who can book a business class to Hong Kong just to eat "dim sum" and fly back in the same day?

I used to talked to those succesfull businessmen and friends, as usual they will be telling you their experience and hard times to deal with to become what they are today.

In my opinion, they can tell whatever they like. Most importantly is how much passion/time/energy you willing to invest in order to become as successful as them?

My parents and friends used to tell me over and over again saying things like:

1. "This idea is hopeless, how much capital you want to risk to know whether you succeed or fail?"
2. "Don't get influenced by others, get a stabil job, and a stable income, ok what?"
3. "So many entertainment with other people, worth it or not?If no, it is just a waste of time"

or in a more serious note:

4. "Don't be a dumb, wake up from reality and you know you will never make it"

Those comments sometimes knocked me over like a big lori sampah staright on to my butt.

But somehow as i grew older, i kept the negativity aside and tell myself. The only critic, the only enemy that you are facing is actually YOURSELF.

I came to realize that, if you are following your dreams, set your sight and strive for it. At the end of the day, be it a success or failure, you can be rest assured that at least you have already WIN by your own determination and nothing should make you regret or whatsover in the future.

You learn from failure a lot more compare to when you success. Agree?

The biggest loser will always be the one who dream big but never dare to go for it.

This is the reason why on my blog, there's a quote stating.

""The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story,
and writes another, and his humblest hour is when he compares the
volume as it is with what he vowed to make it"

Stephen Chow (Director of "Shaolin Soccer") once said (Translated from Chinese; "He who do not posses a dream, has no difference compared to a salted fish".)

True or not true?

Gambling

We as the Chinese people, are not only good in doing business.

We are as good in gambling too.

Whatever You name it, we gamble it. Be it bacarrat, blackjack, mahjong, roulette, football, badminton, horses, cockroaches, rabbits, even what colors of undies that auntie wear today, we'll bet with you.

As the token of appreciation for you guys who still follow up my post even i was away for such a long time, thank you for your support.

I was in Clark, Philippines for the Chinese New Year. Due to some reason, all of us (my whole family inc my uncle and aunt, cousins, my parents, my siblings) were staying together in
a casino+resort known as "Fontana".

So, needless to say, i believe the people who set up this casino is a very wise and smart businessman too. The surroundings of the casino was nice in the inside, but a dead town outside.

So, you would not have too much entertainment outside there nearby the casino, thus, your only way to cure your boredom? - Gamble lah!

People say, you should left when you are winning.

But the problem is, we kept coming back.

With the cute dealers, free foods and drinks, 24-hrs session, i think i have justified myself here why exactly we have spend so much time in the casino during the 5 days trip.

It has become a culture for the chinese, every chinese new year sure "tak boleh lari" from gambling one.

I am not a big gambler, but i do spend enough time in there, just to sit and observe the face of people who are winning and people who are losing their pants off.

I came to understand one thing, it is NOT ALL ABOUT $$.

Looking at the dealer who took away your chips - felt like someone is taking away your man hood.

Looking at dealer paying out the chips to you - felt like someone is offering you a free sex service.

It is about ego, your man hood, and your capital for your night time entertainment.
haha.

It got so addicted to one point, i was so scared to lose my entire savings just because that i can actually stay in the casino for all day long!

So, to solve this problem, i decided to have a tour of "Red Light District" in town. (Yeah Right, good excuse!)

(Sorry this post comes without pictures as i have problems uploading it for the mean time.)

So, overall, i have some fun time in Clark, (Details cant tell you la of course).

At least, my pants is still with me.

Great Day

Happy Chinese New Year everyone.

I used to consider myself as a very "independant" guy, who left the family as young as 12 yrs old to study in a secondary school, then a university, ended up working in KL.

For people like me, sometimes we do not feel the "adrenaline" for CNY anymore. The fire-crackers, the get-together dinner, ang-pows, mandarin oranges, red undies, everything.

So, sometimes we tend to utilize the holiday to go somewhere else, either with a non-chinese friends, or just relaxing back at home listening to those CNY-themed music.

However, things changed when i stumbled upon a CNY movies this year, "Great day" which features the myfm and astro's family of host and artistes.

Looking at the trailers, it makes me realized that for "a guy like me" at a certain age we need to leave all our work behind and thinking about meeting your parents more often than before.

I was even considering spending the new year this year at home, alone.

Like the little girl in the movie used to say. "How many more CNY can i get to see grandpa?"

"80+1+1+1....."

Sod it. Click. On to the Air Asia website. Not even bothered with the price they are offering.

I am on my way to Clark, Phillipines, this year, to meet my parents, my siblings, and all my cousins!!!

This year gonna be a great great year.

"Qing tian huo yu tian, tian tian dou shi hao tian" - Be it sunny day or rainy day, everyday will be a great day. - Quote from the movie "Great Day"

Guys & Girls

For girls, one of their so called "dilemma" is to decide what colour of their bags to go with their shirts.

Whether to don their blouse or skirts for a particular date.

Also a dilemma to sort out which shoes to wear today (They have tonnes of it, and yet to me as a guy, all just looked about the same)

- And hey, we guys got turned on by your boobs, not something that covers your feet.

I used to watch in awe, jaw-dropping, just by looking at girl's applying their make up. It is so amazing that they could remember each and every step of it to the very details, and yet, can't remember their boyfriend's car number.

It is a divine art, with so much complexity, that reminded me that i should have scored an "A" for Chemistry subject in my SPM. (I got a C because i knew what H2O means).

To be honest, i love to be hassle-free. Want to date? Slip into my jeans and t-shirt.

Go wet market? I look for my short pants and t-shirts.

Conclusions?

Guys = Simple human

Girls = Complicated aliens (with make up)

Babi Hutan...

How many times in project execution environment you can actually have a laugh with your clients?

For me, scr*wing & cursing (behind their back) each other got lah.

But today, i received a phone call from a client, who eventually became a very good friend of mine during the course of the projects, requesting for some details.

And he told me his project manager is not available due to the following reasons:

"Kereta die langgar babi hutan pagi tadi"

"So? Macam mane? Dia ok tak?"

"Boss ok, tapi babi hutan tu terguling guling la"

"Ada turun kereta tengok tak??"

"Tak leh la bang, haram..."

All along the conversation, i can't stop laughing...i wonder my boss may thought either i have gone crazy or just chit chatting with a friends during working hour.

Who wouldn't laugh??

A lil' surprise...

I was so busy with my work, did not turn my eyes off from the computer until i saw an envelope on my table, with a card in it.

To: Mr. Wong Hung Yew, Power Systems Division (PSD)

"Oh, not again"

I thought it would be another wedding invitation card.

Opening up the envelope, how sweet it is to find out it is actually a birthday card sent by my company, wishing me in the month of my birthday.

I remembered during last year, i received the same card too.

It does not hold any kind of sentimental value actually, apart from the fact that it reminds me that i have been here for my 2nd year already. How time flies!

Oh my, i am turning into a 28-years old soon.

My birthday wish?

Pocket full of money inside.

A BMW perhaps, anyone?

Jesus Christ: "Wong Hung Yew, you can bloody well go to sleep and dream about it then!"

I love Jesus.

Buddies..and marriage

"Slurrp..."..took one sip of the coffee served by the tealady, staring into my computer and Gtalk, then start typing away.

Me:"When coming back? Tonight?"

J: "Yaya"

Me: "Find a time to yumcha then"

J: "Ok. Leaving now".

Me: " Have a safe journey"

J is one of my closest buddy around, as far as i could think of, we have been friends ever since that Universitiy's day till today.

We play football together, graduated from the same university, i witnessed his wedding with Fion, he attended my housewarming, i also was there when he got cheated by a friend during his house renovation, he shared his joy when his first son, Jayden was born, and he knew both my ex and current girlfriends.

Together we have a close buddy before too, M, until he chose to further his career in PD. We hardly ever met since, (Should say ever since he started to see another girl). Well, i guess that is fate. Buddies come and go.

I remembered J told me something during one of those night chillin' out session. On the reason that he is quite "eager" to see me getting married. (At least i think so).

"Maybe you love your freedom like this, spending times with friends, chillin' out. But remember that She is the one you going to spend the rest of the lifetime together, not your buddy, not your friends. Take an example, if i am going to start my job elsewhere, thats it!"

"I never told someone before what should you do, but i think i need to tell you that this is your moment. How i wish when i am in my age, someone is telling me all this!"

And how true it was. After couple of weeks, he left to pursue his dream job somewhere else. Same like M. Away from KL, only get to go home once in a week, during weekends.

So, my friend, if you happen to read this, does that mean i need to get married already?
