Going home..

"I am coming home on 29th mum"

"Oh, finally?"

Yeah. After so long, this time confirmed will go home. I missed it actually.

The RM2 mee kolok, a quiet town by 10pm, dad's specialty, the crabs and eggs, and mummy's chicken soup.

You can't take this away from me, there is nothing like it, not even close to it compared to what i can have in KL.

Ever since 12, i hardly have the chance to sit down and have a nice chat with my parents.

Thinking back, from years of study till the days i have started working, i have always been a loner. A lone ranger.

So, even if i am destined to be a loner for the rest of my life, i think i can deal with it.

Piece of cake.

It is Friday already, why am i still feeling blues?

Short Term Memory Loss

I can be quite "blur" at times.

I have undergone an operation when i was 9. The after effect of too much medication and paracetamols, i still remembered vividly the doctor told my parents.

"Your kid gonna suffer some kind of long term effect, such as, short term memories".

WTF???

The issue did not bother me eventually when i scored straight As' for my UPSR and PMR. Not to mentioned the flying colours award received for passing my SPM.

Well, thinking back, that doctor might be trying to play a fool on me.

But during last year, an incident strucked wherby i started to believe if i have really do suffer from the "short term" memory loss.

Me: "Bang, check in, to Singapore, flight 830am",
Air Asia (AA) Staff :" Bang, you demam ker?"
Me: Ha..kenapa pula? Sihat saje...
Air Asia (AA) staff: Nie ticket semalam la~!!!!

Wahlao~~~~

That thing you do...

This songs has never failed to get my attention.

Yeah their shirt is sucks, the backdrop was old, the guys, herm, well, i looked better than anyone of them :P

Dancing away*~~

Friday...

"I give you my dirty lil secret....~~"

TGIF. Today, confirm on leave. It seems like there were some piping issue to be rectified in my apartment. So i called up a contractor to help me with the repair job.

As we all knew, this kind of repair job whereby you need to do a lot of hacking works, also means there's gonna be hell of a lot of noise for all day long.

Research has told us that a human being should not be exposed to noise level up to 80 dB (A) for certain period of time, to prevent permanent damages to your ear.

So how? I can't be sitting at my parking lot while waiting for their job to be completed?

Like the cute little penguin, i plugged my earphone, blast the songs outloud, and enjoy the moment.

Eh, my Bruno mars song missing?

Homework and Movie

1. One the person below was not in the negotiation for the independance of Malaya....

2. Calculate the total cubic metre for the following tanks as illustrated below...

3. Xiao Ming fathers has three kids, first kid name "Yi Mao" (One bulu), second kind (Er Mao)...whats the name of the third kid?

This is exactly what happened when you help a primary 6 students in their homework, and having gone through marathon of Stephen Chow movies during the weekends.

Well, at least i managed to answer question no.1 & 2, but not no.3.

Conclusion? I am damn good in studies, but sucks in "teka teki".

How come got sejarah subject in a primary school syllabus one??

Europe

"I am going to Europe this end of July"

"Wow! Should have bring me along!"

The above conversation has took place 2 weeks ago, between me and my mum.
Well, i have had enough of travelling within the SEA. Even worst, it seems like i am destined to travel frequently only to check out the lion head in Singapore. Not to mentioned that, most of the time it is due to works or meeting.

I have not been to Europe before. But apart from the fact that i knew Eiffel Tower is located in France, and Italian love spaghetti, i also knew that without proper research in advanced, i could end up as broke as the homeless guy in Jalan Alor.

This reminded me of a friend who used to travel around the globe with her so called "Rules of thumb" (Yeah right, My foot!!!)

"If i can survive by sleeping on the street, i would".

"I don't mind eating bread everyday during the tour, need to save some money for sightseeing"

I think Tony Fernandes can employ her to encourage cost saving for Air Asia, saving a few dollars here and there, before changing their line to...

"Now, everyone can MAKAN ROTI and SLEEP ON THE DAMN STREET before you fly!"

When i saw my mommy's message came in through the facebook telling me she is in Rome, i think i don't mind to sleep on the street with a Gardenia roti in front of me next time when i travel though!

10 Money Saving tips...

It is when i grew my first mouthstache, i felt a bit reluctant to accompany my mum for shopping.

It is because everytime i went out with her, i will looked like a poor, clueless and confused little kid whenever she started to shout for bargain on everything she bought.

I guess i have had enough when she started to ask for "discount" in a superstore like "Ngiu Kee".

- An equivalent to Parkson in KL, quite a big shopping mall in m hometown, Sarawak.

(Mum: What?? A pair of jean cost 70 ringgit? I can buy in Pasar malam for 3!!! Less a bit-lah!)

Well, honestly it is kinda embarrasing. LOL.

But everything have since changed ever since i started to earn my own bucks.

I used to blew off my monthly salary on the things i like, shirts, watches, gadgets, everything.

But as i grew older, i knew i have to start to save some money for my retirement. It also means try to differentiate between a "need", and a "must".

Even toiletery papers need money nowadays.

Here are a few tips i have followed in order to achieve my retirement savings plan. (I guess it is still not too late to start :)

No no, of course it does not involve using the same piece of toilet paper twice.

1. Cut out on weekend booze. A pint of Hoegaarden cost RM39 these days. With this money, i could have bought a big packet of rice.

It also means on a weekend, i could have save the money for my next 3 months supply of rice.

2. Try to save my electricity bills. Have yet to find a solution to my average RM100++ electricity bill a month (Staying alone!!!). But i guess i will start to off every possible damn electricy apparatus whenever i am not using it. (Rule of thumb: Only on the lights when i need to read.)

3. Try not to consume too much my favourite "mixed rice" from that stupid uncle who charged RM10 for plate of mixed rice in Puteri Mart, Puchong.

4. "Fight" to the death to recover my taxes to the government. (This year, surprisingly, i got back 100% of my declared tax rebate figure).

5. Utilize all the benefits to the limit given by my company. Didn't leave any stone unturn. They are going to forfeit it on next calender year anyway.

6. Claim every single receipt from my outstation claim. (I used to ignore the RM1.60 toll receipt as i thought it is troublesome). But to me, Rm1, still is money. Why not?)

7. Use my underwear until it really torn to the max, only change! (Joking..LOL)

8. Try to cut down on softdrinks and lead a more healthy lifestyle. Coke and sprite does not do you any good, plus, it cost 10 times as much compared to a plain water.

9. Try not to make too much uneccesary phone calls, utilize viber, whatsapp, messenger whenever i could.

10. Try to opt for duty free whenever i can. (You know what i mean).

Guess what, i will never know if the 10 steps as abovementioned could help me turn into a millionaire by the time i am 56.

But it is still a good start isn't it?

Eh, laptop also consume electricity ler....

BYE!

Panda ooo Panda...

You know, it is always a compliment when people say you are cute.

But i guess, being labelled cute because of my "panda look" aka eyebags doesn't really help.

I have been trying out so many traditional method encouraged by my friends, tea bag, cold spoon, you named it, i have tried it.

But nothing seems to work.

As a matter of fact, it is getting darker than ever.

There was this one time when i met up with a hometown friend in KL. You know, girls love to shop in Sasa.

So, out of curiousity, i asked one of the girl there hoping that she can offer me some kind of "magic cure" to my eyebags problem.

As a good saleswoman she is, she intorduce me to a few product.

I was about to buy her idea, when she showed me a small "kind-of-looked-like-a-small-toothpaste" kind of cream, the price was RM180?!!!

No wonder people used to say.

"You want to make money? Do some business that related to women"

*&*^%^& (While my face looking exactly like the panda above)

A look into yesterday, today, and tommorrow

Here goes the weekend.

The past two weeks has been a hell for me. Luckily, i went through it, smooth, and cool as i like.

Not many people knew that i am holding 2 jobs altogether at one time.

If you have followed my blog, i am a full time engineer. Because of my passion, (and eherm* Money), i have decided to go into real estate industry to learn the trade, and try to gain some money out of it.

Well of course i didn't make myself into a rich man who wipe my ass with a RM100 notes overnight, but the moment of getting my first cheque from real estate is definitely (Wow) a fullfilling one. I was like a mad man smiling to myself walking down from the office. It is not a big amount, it is more of a satisfaction knowing that my hard work have paid off finally.

I came from a moderate family. We do not own big, fat mercedes or BMWs, or a super huge mansion by the beach witha gold plated toilet bowl. But my parents did well enough to feed all the kids through university, which is something i am really proud of them.

I still have a fond memories of N-years ago, my uncle even offered me his financial help to go study abroad. But of course, my parent declined his offer, knowing that i am their son and it is only their responsibility to make sure that they will be the one who will fork out the money for my education.

And it is, of course, overwhelming to see the joy in their eyes during my graduation day. (Sorry mom, i thought i have screw it up all together when i am getting a 1.94 GPA during my third year).

So, it has been 5 years since i have started working. Family business getting better, at least it is paying for their own oversea trips at least 3-4 times a year. They assured me they do not need my money when i offered them, as they always have enough. "Just keep it for yourself, we have enough for everything".

I bet i am a really lucky guy. I have a home, i have cars to travel around, i have enough for my expenses, and some time extra just for holidays.

But i guess, because i am used to be financially freed, doesn't mean i shall rest on my laurels.
Although my full time job is paying me enough, but i think i need some challenges. Try to get out from my comfort zone. Try to earn my own money like my parents did. The difference is, they have the pressure for my education, i don't.

Was doing a viewing yesterday, a lady walked into the home and have a look around on one of the house that i am selling. The look on her eyes, gosh, remind me of the day i am looking for a "home". And here i am, at a different side, as the real estate negotiator? :)

Hahaha. Time really flies.

Owner of the house: "Honestly, to me you are a really hardworking guy, a good kid :) Thanks for being so helpful in everything. "

"Thanks ma'am. I am after your commission anyway."

Both of us burst into laughter.

And oh yes, i definitely grew up.
