"KL is not a place for people to stay one~"
But of course i will never blame them for having that kind of mindset.
It is true to a certain extent that when you think about living in an urban city like Kuala Lumpur, you will start to wander about:
Approx 30 yrs of debt-ridden life purchasing a "home":
Approx 7 yrs loan commitment to a car:
Then, with cars come the "piggy bank" of Datuk Samy Vellu:
Ei, where's my "Tesco" brand Maggie mee liaw??
Well most of my friends around are having a stable job and stable income. Yes, maybe it is not too luxurious like having BMWs and Lexus-es, but at least, we don't have to worry about the basics needs such as foods, drinks and shelters.
But one thing is for sure, to people who "live" much more than what they could have earned, we have another option:
Recent economic crisis and the wallstreet meltdown in the United States of America has taught us a very good lesson. Not everyday is going to be a sunny day.
Debts of credit cards, unserviced home and car loans, has proven to be one of the main cause of people jumping off from the buildings.
So, it is always good to have a good financial planning, well ahead before the disaster strucks.
If we think that we are a bad financial planner, so bad that even an ATMs will switch themselves off whenever they see you, you might think about engaging one professional financial planner for yourself or your family.
Or start investing in?
1. Fixed Deposit? - Risk free, but but the return is peanuts. (I won't give a damn)
2. EPF - Thats when you get your money when half of your legs is in the coffin. (Lama lagi..)
3. Share market - That's where "speculative investor" start to think about jumping off from buildings. (Well, i don't even do bungy jumps, so forget about it)
4. Properties investment - Medium risk with potentially high return. (Okey...).
Property investment, anyone?
You must be asking, why am i writing all this nonsense? Well, as i have told you before, i LOVE writing nonsense. But in the end, i don't mind really if sometimes the nonsense can trigger some loyal readers to prompt me with something like this.
Somebody: Well you are a good writer!
Somebody: Yeah i know, but that's how good you are!
Somebody: You are always creative!
Somebody: I think the article is really good, as if it comes from some kind of magazine!!
Well i know, you don't have to remind me of that. Haks.
No seriously, it is so sad that we learnt from newspaper everyday that tragedies happened for one and only reason most of the time-Money. Loan sharks harrasement, drugs traficking, divorces, commit suicide cases, don't you see the relevance?
It is all about the money!
Ei, where's my "Tesco" brand Maggie mee liaw??
