A trip to Boracay Island

If you guys are wondering where have i dissapeared for the past two weeks, this is why.

Yes i was on a trip.

Welcome to Boracay, a tropical island surrounded by stunning white sand beaches about an hour flight from Manila, Phillipines.

Due to the fact that our country have just wiped out the entire Sulu clan in Sabah, some of my friends did adviced us to just abandon the plan.

But how could you resist the temptation of the island where Fish Leong have conducted her wedding?

If you really want me to point out the only dissapointment during the trip (apart from the tips-grabbing islander) it would be the transport and logistic.

To get to the island, we departed from Kuala Lumpur at 7am, and reached Boracay hotel at 12 Midnight. This is the summary of the our travel itinerary.

1. 7am flight from KL - Arriving Clark at 11am.
2. Next flight out from Clark (7pm) to Kalibo Airport (8pm) (The airport name sounds funny isnt it)
3. Approx 2 and half hour bus ride from Kalibo airport to the Jetty. (1030pm)
4. Half and hour boatg ride to Boracay.

Welcome to Boracay!

Anyway my advice to you is, if you want to travel to Boracay next time, you can actually take a direct flight from Clark to Boracay island straight! (Some airliner called Zest Air or Cebu Air).

But too bad we have booked the travel itinerary earlier, and cancelling it and rearrange the trip would be a definite pain in the ass.

To be honest i am more like a "beach kind of person" when come to holiday. I have always thought Phuket is fantastic.

But Boracay? It blew me away right from the first time i set my sight on the beach and the crystal clear water.

People used to say picture paints a thousand words.

So i painted a picture on myself first before embarking for island hopping activity.

So i will looked more macho without my shirt on.

Knowing that my mum will disown me just because of a tattoo, i did the fake one la.. as the locals called it "Henna Tattoing". Or so called "temporary tattoo" drawn on your skin which will fade off over time.

(FYI, the tatto is still visible until today)

I chose this design for almost 3000 Peso (RM20++). The price varies depending on the size and complexity of the tattoo design itself.

The complete article.

Psycologically, i felt like i could beat the craps out of five filipino guys at one go. Ha ha!.

So, the next activity, the most anticipated one, the island hopping and snorkelling!!

So, here's the thing. In Phuket, for one trip of island hopping may cost you around RM100++ per head.

But in Boracay, they charge you "per boat". One boat capable to carry up to between 6-10 passengers, and for our group, we only have to pay up to approx RM 180 per boat. Divided by six, so each of us only paid RM30 per head for this activity.

Super cheap right?

Few of my favourite shots during the activities.

When the beach boys goes ga-ga.

And started to take some "ala-hidustan" fighting scene on the beach.

The beach was so nice, until my friend also don't want to go home.

LOL.

I will update more on our activities in the next post, till then, stay tuned :)

To be continued....

Time's up

Little did i know that after 5 long years i would resort to do something like this.

I went for interview in Aug 2008, got recruited, and was happy with my job all along.

As an engineer, for the past 7 years since i started coming out to work i have chosen to be engaged in the project management role.

A role which enable you to plan your work and progress, but never your life. Why i said so?

Literally managing a projects is like taking care of a baby. (If any one of you who happened to be in this line of work, you should understand very well).

But come May 2013, i am basically OUT OF JOB.

People used to ask me "Do you have any plan after this?"

"No."

Normal reaction that i got?

"Harlow...Jangan tipu ler..."

"You serious or not?"

"Why you so stupid one??"

Well honestly there were offers on hand but right now i guess the most important things is to catch up the lost time with the families and friends.

For the first time, i decided to put family and friends above work, above everything else.

I AM A GENIUS

Last year i bought a new vacuum cleaner.

So cleaning up the home is no more a pain in the ass.

Indeed, having a vacuum cleaner did make my task much more easier.

But on one fine day, suddenly this machines stopped while i was half way vacuuming my living hall.

My first thought was "oh no, not again".

It is because i have the habit of buying the LG brand. Affordable, good looking but always have the risk of breaking down much earlier compared to other brands.

My initial plan at that time was to send back the vacuum for service and repair. But the shopkeeper told us that since the warranty has expired, i would risk spending more repairing on it compared to buying a new one.

And thanks to my busy schedule, this vacuum cleaner ended up in my store for more than one year.

Then, come one day while i was ironing my working attire, while looking at my iron, something crossed my mind.

So let me tell you the story.

When i was a university student, my parents and my uncles and aunties used to ask me what did i study in uni.

When i said electrical engineering, the expression on their face is...priceless...

"My TV got smoke come out ler...what happen ar?"

"My radio couldn't work, can you fix it?"

"My dog died, can you help? "

WTF.

My mum even better. One day when i was shitting in toilet, (Note: SHITTING). She put a table fan outside the toilet door and say.

"Fix this table fan. We pay so much for your study already, if you can;t fix it, you might as well drop your studies and work for your dad".

My ego just couldn't take it.

So i went out, grab the fan, plugged it into all the sockets in the house. Nothing works.

I was so pissed with myself and started asking "what is the purpose of studying engineering when i can't f**king repair a table fan".

All of the sudden, somthing crossed my mind.

The fuse.

Yes THE FUSE!!

Grab a new fuse from the nearest store for 50 cents, plugged it in, and the blade started to turn.

Honestly at that moment, i felt like i am the superman.

I can't stop smiling until today, after 10 over years when i try to remember my parents face expression when i gave them back the fan, working fine again.

When they asked me how did i do it?

With the super LanSi face...

"I am a genius..thats all".

This is exactly what i did after 10 years down the road.

I changed the fuse, and everything starts to work again.

So, when my GF asked me the same question, guess how i answer her back?

I bet you guys know.
